Dr. Abhishek Paul (MBBS, DNB Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Delhi, FMRF Sankara Nethralaya Chennai, FICO London, MNAMS, MRCS Edinburgh, FRCS Glasgow II, FAGE) & Dr. Bijita Deb Paul (MBBS, MS JIPMER Pondicherry, DNB, FCRS The Eye Foundation Coimbatore, FRCS Glasgow I) had incepted the idea of foundation of this hospital in 2018 & after a thorough planning executed this in November 2020. They have trained from world-class hospitals like Sankara Nethralaya Chennai, JIPMER Pondicherry, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital New Delhi, The Eye Foundation Coimbatore under experienced & renowned surgeons of national & international repute like Dr. Prof. AK Grover, Dr. Harbans Lal, Dr. D. Ramamurthy, Dr. Chithra Ramamurthy, Dr. Meenakshi Swaminathan, Dr. Sumita Agarkar, Dr. Prof. Renuka Srinivasan, Dr. Shreyas Ramamurthy, & many others.
The doctors aimed to establish a world-class eye care setup in the state of Chhattisgarh, which could cater to the needs of all sections of the society. The hospital also has peripheral vision centres in rural areas, to cater to the needs of underprivileged patients, by conducting “Free eye camp services” on a frequent basis, where comprehensive eye evaluation of the patients with free glasses and eye drops are provided, whenever possible.
